  • Interlocking / Hook-Cut Metal Profile for Rotating Shaft Dynamic Sealing: Unlike static backup rings (such as 6Y-7793) or elastomeric seals, the 7G-4818 is engineered specifically for dynamic rotating shaft applications. It features a precision hook-joint / interlocking cut design that maintains constant radial tension against the housing bore during high-RPM rotation, minimizing pressurized oil bypass in transmission fluid circuits. 
  • Cast Iron / Bronze Metallic Matrix & High Thermal Resistance: Manufactured from premium wear-resistant cast iron or heavy-duty bronze alloy. This metallic composition prevents galling during lubrication fluctuations and withstands continuous rotational friction at fluid temperatures exceeding 150°C, offering superior longevity compared to conventional elastomeric seals. 
  • Precision Face Sealing & Pressure-Assisted Hydrodynamic Sealing: Features micro-lapped side faces that utilize hydraulic pressure to create a pressure-assisted face seal inside the groove. As clutch or converter pressure rises, the ring is forced firmly against the groove shoulder, ensuring zero pressure loss and preventing clutch slippage in heavy-duty transmissions.
